Boise, Idaho – The Hard MTB League, a new competition that blends several mountain‑biking disciplines into one arena‑style track, is set to host its World Championship on October 24 at a purpose‑built course in the foothills near Boise. Founder Braydon Bringhurst, who dreamed up the concept roughly four years ago, says the event is designed to serve riders, spectators and livestream viewers from around the globe.
All‑Mountain‑Bike Styles in One Venue
Bringhurst describes the course as a “really intense arena‑style track” that includes loose raw riding, pumpy jumpy sections, downhill‑style big‑hit runs and a technical climbing component. “It’s an all‑mountain‑bike park that encompasses every style of riding,” he explained. The track features rocks, logs, jumps and technical features that aim to cover the entire spectrum of the sport.
Support for Professional Riders
Mountain biking has historically offered modest payouts to professional athletes. This year, the Hard MTB League is committing $125,000 to the riders’ purses, a move Bringhurst says reflects the league’s dedication to supporting the sport’s professionals.
Community Partnership with Avimor
Both Bringhurst and race manager Ayden Pishl credit the Avimor community for helping the league grow. Avimor provided land for the proof‑of‑concept track, allowed multiple test events, and even adjusted construction schedules to accommodate the league’s needs. “They’re building a community for people to be outside,” Pishl said. The partnership is rooted in a shared vision for outdoor recreation and a desire to make the foothills more accessible for families and adventure seekers.
Festival Atmosphere and Spectator Experience
The event is being positioned as a festival‑like gathering. Spectators can watch all the different tracks from a single vantage point, a feature Pishl says is unique among mountain‑bike events. “Even if you don’t ride bikes, this is a good sport to come check out,” he added. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available.
Inspiring Perseverance Beyond the Course
Beyond the competition, Bringhurst hopes the league’s messaging will inspire attendees to tackle challenges in their own lives. “The message behind all of our media and our docuseries is about persevering and overcoming,” he said. He envisions the event as a fun spectacle that also encourages personal growth, describing it as a “costume party” and a “great time right before Halloween.”
Event Details
Racing begins at 2 p.m. on October 24, with additional festival activities planned throughout the day. Tickets and livestream information are available through the league’s website.
The Hard MTB League’s Boise debut marks a significant step for the sport, offering a comprehensive showcase of mountain‑biking styles while highlighting the value of community partnership and outdoor recreation.
