Granbury residents are invited to participate in a three‑part community service day on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, organized by Keep Granbury Beautiful and the City of Granbury. The event combines a neighborhood cleanup, a bulk‑trash collection, and a “Shred It Instead” document‑shredding service, offering a convenient way for citizens to improve the town’s appearance and protect personal information.
Great Granbury Cleanup begins at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall, 116 W. Bridge St. Volunteers must be at least seven years old and work in teams of four or more. The city will supply leather gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and grabbers. Participants may choose from five designated cleanup zones: U.S. 377 (James Road to Loop 567), Loop 567 (Business 377 Airport to Business 377 Mesquite Pit), U.S. 144 (Pearl Street to Spanish Trail), FM 4 (U.S. 377 to Fall Creek Highway), and Crawford Avenue. After filling bags, volunteers should place them at the cleanup area for city staff pickup and return vests and grabbers to the back porch of City Hall.
Bulk Trash Collection runs concurrently on the same day. Residents must place eligible items at the curb by 7 a.m. Accepted items include mattresses, refrigerators, freezers, air‑conditioning units (with Freon‑reclamation certification), and tree limbs bundled and under four feet long. Each household may submit up to six items. The city does not accept tires, paint, oil, liquids, construction or masonry materials. This service does not alter the regular residential trash schedule.
Shred It Instead takes place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (or until the shredding truck is full) at American Town Hall, 220 N. Travis St. Residents may bring up to three Bankers Boxes of paper‑only documents, each no larger than 24 × 15 × 10¼ inches. Binder clips, staples, and paper clips are prohibited. The hired shredding company, which also provides the city’s ongoing secure shredding service, will shred documents on site in batches inside the truck. Attendees who wish to watch their batch being shredded can park and carry the paper to the truck; otherwise, vehicles will drive through the shredding lane.
The city emphasizes security, noting the shredding provider’s prior experience with municipal events. Residents with questions are directed to email [email protected].
Why it matters: The coordinated effort addresses litter, illegal dumping, and identity‑theft risks while fostering community pride. By offering a single day for multiple services, the city makes it easier for families, seniors, and volunteers to contribute to a cleaner, safer Granbury.
What’s next: Interested participants should gather the required supplies, assemble teams, and arrive at the designated locations on Nov. 7. For bulk‑trash participants, ensure items are at the curb by 7 a.m. For shredding, limit paper to three Bankers Boxes per vehicle. Additional information and updates will be posted on the city’s website.
