Georgetown residents can expect continued improvements to local roadways as Williamson County officials confirmed a series of design, construction and completion updates for projects throughout the area.
Upcoming projects
RM 2243 (Hero Way) widening – Phase 2A: The next phase will widen the road from 183A to Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The project remains in the design stage, with a final revised schematic expected by summer 2028.
CR 175 reconstruction: Work will reconstruct and widen County Road 175 from south of Creek Meadow Cove to RM 2243. Preliminary design work reached 30 % completion in fall 2025, and the final design is slated for 2027.
Ongoing projects
RM 2243 (Hero Way) widening – Phase 1A: Approximately 3.5 miles of Hero Way between 183A and Garey Park are being reconstructed, realigned and widened. Construction began in January, and Chasco Constructors continue work on the corridor.
Ramps at Hwy. 195 and Ronald Reagan: A series of entrance and exit ramps are being built at the intersection of Hwy. 195 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The first northbound exit ramp opened on August 24. The engineering team is reviewing design alternatives for the remaining three ramps, with a final schematic anticipated in fall 2027.
CR 110 north extension: This project extends County Road 110 northward from CR 111 (Rockride Lane) to connect with Patriot Way at Sam Houston Avenue. Construction on the extension began in early 2026 and remains ongoing.
Ronald Reagan Boulevard widening – Segment B: The project adds a two‑lane southbound roadway from Hwy. 29 to FM 3405 and converts the existing road to northbound‑only traffic. Chasco Constructors started work in 2024, with completion projected for late 2027.
Completed projects
CR 255 (Tucker Parkway) reconstruction: A new two‑lane roadway was built alongside the existing road from CR 254 to CR 289. The reconstructed road opened to drivers on August 24 and the county renamed it “Tucker Parkway.”
These updates reflect the county’s ongoing commitment to improving traffic flow, safety and connectivity for Georgetown’s growing community. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about construction schedules and detour routes through the Williamson County transportation website.
