Garth Brooks cancels third Kansas City concert after bots overwhelm ticket queue

Country music legend Garth Brooks announced Monday that a third concert in Kansas City, Missouri, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, has been cancelled. The decision follows the discovery that automated bots flooded the ticket‑sale queue, preventing genuine fans from securing seats.

Bot activity forced ticket halt

Brooks added the matinee performance to the “Blame It All on My Roots” tour after the T‑Mobile Center noted strong demand for tickets. In a statement posted on his website, Brooks explained that over 90,000 people were in the queue when tickets went on sale Friday morning, but the majority were bots. The bots occupied seats throughout the floor and lower bowl, creating a scenario that limited access for real fans.

Brooks’ team announced on social media that sales had been halted and described the bot activity as “out of hand.” The venue and the artist’s representatives said the bots were “flooding” the on‑sale system, prompting the cancellation of the additional matinee show.

Refunds and remaining shows

Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled matinee will receive automatic refunds. The two evening concerts on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 remain on the schedule, and tickets for those performances are still available through the official ticketing channels.

“Because of social media posts and our history with Kansas City, I felt we left people unable to get tickets on the original on‑sale,” Brooks wrote. “I was the one who suggested we put a lower bowl Saturday matinee up for sale.” The artist expressed disappointment that the bot activity forced the cancellation, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring fans have a fair chance to attend.

Impact on fans and the local economy

The cancellation underscores the growing challenge of automated ticket‑purchasing programs that can distort demand for high‑profile events. Local fans expressed frustration on social media, noting that the bots not only prevented them from buying tickets but also created uncertainty around the concert schedule.

While the matinee show will not proceed, the two remaining concerts are expected to draw significant attendance, supporting local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation services that benefit from large‑scale events at the T‑Mobile Center.

What fans can do

Fans seeking tickets for the Nov. 6 and 7 shows are encouraged to purchase directly through the venue’s official ticketing partner to avoid potential bot interference. The venue has indicated that additional security measures will be implemented for future sales to protect against similar disruptions.

For updates on ticket availability and any further announcements, fans should monitor Garth Brooks’ official website and the T‑Mobile Center’s communication channels.
