Madras families still feeling the impact of recent wildfires have a new opportunity for assistance. On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Central Oregon Agricultural Research & Extension Center at 850 NW Dogwood Lane will host a free Wildfire Recovery Multi‑Agency Resource Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What attendees can expect
The fair brings together representatives from a broad spectrum of government agencies and community groups, giving residents a single place to ask questions, learn about recovery programs, and explore insurance options. Lunch will be provided, and the event is open to anyone from Madras and surrounding areas who needs support.

Attendees will find staff from the following agencies on site:
- Oregon State University Extension
- USDA Farm Service Agency

How to get involved
Residents with questions about the event can contact Jefferson County Commissioner Mark Wunsch at (541) 475‑2449. The fair is designed to be a one‑stop shop for practical help, reducing the need for multiple trips to separate offices.
Why the event matters
Wildfires have strained families across Central Oregon, threatening homes, livelihoods, and the health of the community. By coordinating resources from local, state, and federal levels, the event underscores a collaborative approach that aligns with the values of strong families and responsible stewardship of our land.
Community members are encouraged to attend, bring any relevant paperwork, and take advantage of the free lunch while they gather the information they need to begin the recovery process.
