The Indianapolis public‑library system and local venues are hosting a new series of free creative‑writing workshops designed for adult writers of all skill levels. Launched by the Butler University Master of Fine Arts program in 2025, the Community Workshop Series began on Oct. 27 and will run through April 30, 2027.

Thirteen workshops will cover poetry, creative nonfiction and fiction. Each session is led by an alumnus of the Butler MFA program, providing participants with professional guidance and peer feedback. Attendees may join any single class, a handful of sessions, or the entire series, depending on their interests and schedules.
