El Paso Zoo Hosts Earth Day Celebration with Animals, Activities, Hands-On Fun

The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens is gearing up for an Earth Day celebration designed for families and nature lovers. The event promises a mix of animal encounters, interactive activities and hands-on learning opportunities aimed at raising awareness about conservation and the environment.

Guests can expect up-close experiences with some of the zoo’s animals, along with keeper talks that explain how different species are cared for and what their needs are in the wild. These brief demonstrations are intended to help visitors connect with the animals and understand the role zoos play in protecting vulnerable species.

In addition to animal programming, the celebration will include activity stations for children and adults. Attendees will find craft projects, planting stations where participants can pot native plants or learn about seed starting, and educational booths that highlight recycling, water conservation and other everyday actions people can take to help the planet.

The atmosphere is family-friendly and casual, with opportunities for hands-on participation as well as quieter spots to explore the botanical gardens. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions, point out native plantings and share tips for creating wildlife-friendly spaces at home.

The Earth Day festivities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and continue into the afternoon. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the full slate of activities and to enjoy the zoo and gardens during the special event.
