It has been a banner week for Cody’s schools, with two feel-good stories emerging from the community that highlight the talent and dedication of local students and educators alike.
The Cody Broncs Marching Band earned a standout finish at the Wyoming state marching band competition, with the Cody Enterprise reporting that the group “hit a high note at state.” The achievement drew support from beyond Cody’s borders as well — the Greybull Standard noted that students from Greybull High School lent a hand to help the Cody marching band place at the state event, a heartwarming example of neighboring communities coming together in the spirit of music and school pride.
Marching band competitions demand months of rigorous rehearsal, precise coordination, and genuine teamwork from every performer on the field. Placing at the state level is a meaningful accomplishment that reflects the hard work of the students, their directors, and the families who support them throughout the season. The cross-school collaboration with Greybull students adds an extra layer of community spirit to an already impressive result.
In a separate recognition, the Cody Enterprise reported that the assistant principal at Cody Middle School, Johnson, has been named a regional finalist — an honor that spotlights the quality of leadership within Cody’s schools. Regional finalist recognition in educational administration typically reflects peer and community evaluation of an educator’s impact on students, staff, and school culture.
Together, these two stories paint a picture of a school community that is thriving — from the marching field to the front office. Congratulations to the Cody Broncs Band, the Greybull students who joined them, and to Assistant Principal Johnson on this well-deserved recognition.
