Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is set to welcome Bend residents and students to its 27th annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 14. The event begins with a free Toddler Trot at 10 a.m., followed by the 5K Turkey Trot at 10:30 a.m., both taking place on the college’s Bend campus.
Family‑friendly schedule
The Toddler Trot offers two age categories—children three and younger, and children five and younger—running the full length of the athletic field. No online registration is required; families should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to check in.
After the toddler races, the main 5K event opens to COCC students and staff at no cost, while community members can register for $20. Registration includes a commemorative T‑shirt, a breakfast spread, and access to a race clock at the start line so participants can track their finish times.
Supporting scholarships
All proceeds from the Turkey Trot go directly to the COCC Foundation, which awards scholarships to local students. By combining a fun fitness activity with a charitable cause, the college reinforces its commitment to education and community involvement.
How to register and get assistance
Adults interested in the 5K can register online at cocc.edu/sports. For questions, the COCC Sports and Recreation Department can be reached at 541‑383‑7794 or [email protected].
