The Clearmont Historical Group (CHG) will host its annual Veterans Day program on Saturday, November 11, beginning at 1 p.m. The event starts at the Clear Creek Valley Veterans Memorial, where a brief ceremony will be held before attendees walk the short distance to the Clearmont Community Center.
Program Highlights
At the memorial, A/C Music student Jacob Carvelho will perform the solemn tune “Taps,” honoring the men and women who have served in the United States military. Following the tribute, retired U.S. Navy veteran H.B. Puckett will address the crowd, sharing reflections on service and sacrifice.
Once inside the Clearmont Community Center, the program continues with patriotic music performed by Arvada‑Clearmont 7‑12 music students under the direction of music teacher Kirsten Pummill. In addition, several middle‑ and high‑school students, coordinated by Social Studies teacher Madeline Hutchison, will speak about the importance of remembering veterans and the values they defended.
Community Invitation
The CHG emphasizes that the ceremony is open to all residents and visitors who wish to pay respect to the nation’s veterans. Families are encouraged to attend together, making the day a shared experience of gratitude, patriotism, and local fellowship.
“Veterans Day is a time for our community to come together and honor those who have protected our freedoms,” said a CHG spokesperson. “We are proud to provide a respectful program that highlights the contributions of our veterans and engages our youth in meaningful remembrance.”
