Chittenango, N.Y. – This Thanksgiving, Clear Path for Veterans is turning the town’s love of pie into a lifeline for service members. The nonprofit’s annual pie‑sale will fund more than 600 complimentary holiday meals for veterans and their families in the area.
Pie flavors and ordering details
Executive Chef Michael Sheets says the menu this year includes four classic flavors – Chocolate Cream, Pumpkin, Apple and Very Berry – plus a special Puppy Pumpkin Pie for a gut‑healthy treat for dogs. All pies are baked fresh and can be ordered online through the organization’s official event page.
“A lot of veterans unfortunately don’t have family to go to for Thanksgiving dinner, so we are their family,” Sheets explained. “The money raised from selling the pies helps make it possible for us to provide these veterans a Thanksgiving meal, and purchasing one of these pies is a way to help us do that.”
How the meals are provided
Proceeds from each pie go directly to the nonprofit’s meal‑funding program. The organization coordinates with local shelters, churches and community centers to assemble and distribute the free Thanksgiving dinners. In addition to buying a pie, donors can choose to sponsor an entire hot meal for a veteran or active‑duty service member.
Community involvement
The initiative reflects Chittenango’s strong tradition of supporting those who have served. Local businesses have pledged to donate ingredients and volunteer time, while residents are encouraged to spread the word on social media and through word‑of‑mouth.
“Our town has always rallied around our veterans,” said a longtime volunteer with Clear Path for Veterans. “This pie sale is a simple, tasty way for anyone to give back and ensure our heroes have a warm, hearty Thanksgiving.”
How to order
Orders are accepted through the Clear Path for Veterans Event Page, where customers can select pie flavors, specify quantities and add a meal‑sponsorship if desired. Delivery and pickup options are available throughout the Chittenango area, making it easy for families and friends to participate.
