For nearly ten years the Mehmedi family has been a staple of Celina’s dining scene through Celina Star Cafe, a beloved small‑town diner. Building on that legacy, the family announced plans for Brunch Factory, an upscale breakfast‑and‑lunch concept that will sit along Preston Road near the new Costco.
Location and timing
The new restaurant will occupy a modern space designed to accommodate a larger crowd, offer a full bar, and present a refreshed atmosphere compared with the cozy feel of Celina Star. The owners said they hope to receive the building by the end of December 2026 and then spend roughly four months preparing the interior, staff, and menu before opening doors in the spring of 2027.
Menu and concept
While the menu is still being finalized, the family indicated that classic comfort foods such as biscuits and gravy, chicken‑fried chicken, and chicken‑fried steak will remain staples. In addition, they plan to introduce new dishes that aim to set Brunch Factory apart from other local eateries. “We definitely want to turn it up a notch with the menu items,” the owners said.
Why Preston Road?
The decision to locate the restaurant on Preston Road reflects Celina’s rapid growth over the past decade. New retailers—including Costco and the city’s first Walmart Supercenter—have transformed the corridor into a regional shopping hub. “Driving up and down Preston for the last 10 years, seeing the development go down, it’s something my family and I have dreamed of, a brand‑new place, designed how we want it,” said owner Toni Mehmedi.
Community focus
For the Mehmedi family, Brunch Factory is more than a new business venture; it is an effort to grow alongside the residents who have supported Celina Star since its opening. The family emphasized that the new concept will still feel like a gathering place for locals, offering a space where neighbors can meet, share a meal, and feel at home.
Future projects
Brunch Factory is not the only expansion on the horizon. The owners also disclosed plans for GyroHaus, a separate restaurant slated for the east side of the same development. Construction on GyroHaus is expected to finish around March or April 2027.
Looking ahead
As Celina approaches the 10th anniversary of Celina Star Cafe in June 2027, the Mehmedi family hopes the new brunch spot will complement the town’s evolving dining landscape while preserving the family‑friendly spirit that has defined their business for a decade.
