Fargo, ND – The Cass County Election Office has opened five early‑voting locations for the upcoming general election, giving voters more convenient options to cast their ballots before Election Day. The sites include the Fargodome, the Ramada Inn, the Hartl Ag Building at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, the Fargo Parks Sports Center, and Casselton City Hall.
Hours and Days of Operation
All locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. On Saturdays the hours are shortened to 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of the Fargodome, which follows the weekday schedule.
Preparation Tips for Voters
County officials remind voters to verify their assigned polling place before heading to an early‑voting site. Voters must also bring proper identification. “If it’s an out‑of‑state license, of course, you have to get a North Dakota‑issued ID in order to vote in the state of North Dakota. There’s no way around that. But if it’s a North Dakota license from somewhere else in the state, all you have to do is update the address with the DMV. You don’t even need a physical license,” explained Sarah Heinle, Cass County finance director.
Early‑Voting Rollout Across the Region
The early‑voting effort began in neighboring Stutsman County on Monday, Oct. 26, and Grand Forks County will start its early‑voting period at the Alerus Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Cass County’s expanded locations are part of a coordinated regional push to make voting more accessible and to encourage higher turnout.
Why Early Voting Matters
Early voting provides flexibility for working families, seniors, and anyone who prefers to avoid the crowds on Election Day. By offering multiple sites across the county, officials aim to reduce travel time and make the voting process smoother for residents of both Fargo and the surrounding communities.
What Voters Can Expect
Each site will be staffed by trained election workers who will verify voter eligibility, check identification, and issue ballots. Voters can expect the same ballot options as they would receive at their regular polling place, including the ability to vote on local, state, and federal contests.
