Bradford, PA – The Bradford Owls endured a tough Senior Night on Friday, as the Brockway Rovers overwhelmed them with a 72-16 victory. The loss leaves the Owls at one win and eight defeats overall, and winless in league competition at 0-4.
Rovers set a scoring record
Brockway’s offense exploded for a season‑high 72 points, the most the Rovers have posted this year. Quarterback Aiden Patton connected on two first‑quarter touchdown passes to wide receiver Caleb Daugherty, who also added a rushing touchdown of his own. Additional scores came from Ben Bash, Kolton Kahle, Collin Weir and Brock Yale, each finding the end zone.
Owls continue a difficult stretch
The Owls’ lone victory this season came on September 18, a 24-20 win at Coudersport. Since then, Bradford has dropped sixteen of its last seventeen games, a skid that stretches back into the previous season. The defeat on Senior Night marks the team’s fifth consecutive loss in league play.
Looking ahead
Bradford hopes to rebound next Friday when the Owls travel to Warren for a 7:00 p.m. matchup. Brockway will host Maplewood later that evening.
Community response
Despite the scoreline, local supporters praised the seniors for their dedication and encouraged the younger players to stay focused on improvement. “We’re proud of our seniors for giving it their all,” said longtime Owls fan and former player Mark Stevenson. “We’ll keep working hard and come back stronger next week.”
The game was played at Bradford High School’s field, drawing a modest crowd of family, friends, and community members who gathered to cheer on the home team.
