CASPER, WY — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming (BGCCW) announced the start of an indoor youth soccer league that will run from Monday, Oct. 26 through Dec. 10. The league is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade and will be held at the club’s Casper location, 1701 K Street.
“Keeping kids active during the colder months is about much more than exercise,” said D.C. Martinez, athletics director for BGCCW, in the club’s release. “Sports give young people a positive place to go, teammates to connect with, and opportunities to build confidence, learn discipline, and develop healthy habits. We want every child to have the opportunity to stay active, make friends, and continue growing both on and off the field.”
The program costs $45 per participant, plus a $10 membership fee to join the club. Families can register online through the BGCCW website, where additional details about schedule, equipment requirements, and safety protocols are provided.
Indoor soccer offers a safe, climate‑controlled environment for young athletes to practice ball‑handling, teamwork, and fitness when outdoor fields are often covered in snow or ice. By providing a structured, supervised setting, the league also gives parents peace of mind that their children are engaged in a constructive activity rather than staying indoors without purpose.
Community leaders praised the initiative as a valuable addition to Casper’s winter recreation options. “Our city values programs that strengthen families and give children positive outlets,” said a representative from the Casper Chamber of Commerce. “This league aligns with our goals of promoting healthy habits and fostering community spirit.”
BGCCW has a long history of offering after‑school and summer programs that emphasize character development, academic support, and physical activity. The new indoor soccer league expands those efforts into the winter season, ensuring that youth have consistent access to organized sports year‑round.
Registration is open now, and spots are expected to fill quickly. Parents interested in enrolling their children can visit bgccw.org for the application form and further information.
