Appleton is seeing a pair of exciting development milestones this week, signaling fresh investment and growth for the community.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has awarded a $250,000 grant to Appleton’s Long Cheng MarketPlace to fund a major renovation of the beloved multicultural marketplace. Long Cheng MarketPlace has long served as a vibrant hub for the Hmong community and shoppers from across the Fox Valley, and the grant promises to help the venue grow and improve for years to come.
In a separate development, new plans have been unveiled for the former Thrivent site in Appleton. Those plans call for approximately 500 housing units, a shopping area, and a fire station — a substantial mixed-use project that would bring new residents, retail options, and essential public safety infrastructure to that part of the city.
Together, these two projects reflect a community that continues to invest in its neighborhoods, its cultural anchors, and its future. Stay tuned as both developments move forward.
