Arlington ISD’s Board of Trustees met on October 6, 2026, to address several key initiatives that affect students, teachers and the community. The board began by honoring senior Sandra Njoroge, a student at Arlington College and Career High School, as the district’s October Student of the Month.
Curriculum audit response
Chief Academics Officer Dr. Priscila Dilley briefed trustees on the district’s recent curriculum management audit. The independent review highlighted several areas for improvement. Dr. Dilley explained that Arlington ISD is installing stronger systems to address those gaps and sustain higher academic standards.
Teacher Incentive Allotment rollout
The board received an update on the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), the district’s first year of implementation. TIA is now active at 23 pilot schools, aiming to reward effective teaching while accurately measuring student growth. Trustees noted that the program offers outstanding teachers a pathway to earn additional income for their dedication.
College, Career and Military Readiness plan
Board members approved this year’s College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) plan. The comprehensive strategy aligns district resources, academics and student supports to prepare graduates for long‑term success, whether they pursue higher education, skilled trades or military service.
Stadium demolition and new construction
Both Cravens and Wilemon Field stadiums have been demolished under the 2019 Bond program. New stadiums are now under construction, and trustees approved easements at the former sites so Oncor can access the properties and complete necessary electrical work for the upcoming facilities.
Next meeting
The board reminded the public that meetings are open to all residents. The next session is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Arlington ISD Administration Building. A full recording of the Oct. 6 meeting is available on the district’s YouTube channel.
