PHOENIX — The Arizona Attorney General’s Office announced Wednesday that a $1.2 million settlement will be used to reimburse Arizona veterans who were misled by VetLink Solutions, a private firm that claimed to help with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability claims.
Settlement details
According to the AG’s office, VetLink Solutions advertised itself as a qualified guide for veterans navigating the VA benefits process, yet it was not accredited to file claims on their behalf. From January 2019 through March 13 2024, the company allegedly charged disabled veterans fees for services it could not legally provide.
Under the settlement, VetLink Solutions contributed $1.2 million to a fund that will reimburse eligible veterans. To qualify, a veteran must have paid VetLink for assistance with a disability claim during the specified period and must have filed a VA claim form by September 10. The Attorney General’s Office expects to begin mailing checks this week.
How veterans can claim their money
Veterans who believe they are eligible and have already submitted a claim should watch for a check in the mail within the next 14 days. If a check does not arrive, they can contact the Settlement Administrator at 866‑880‑0070 or email [email protected] for assistance.
Attorney General’s response
“The Arizona Attorney General’s Office is proud to have secured this settlement on behalf of veterans in our state,” Kris Mayes said in a statement. “Veterans deserve trusted assistance, not deceptive sales tactics. My office will continue to hold accountable anyone who tries to take advantage of Arizona veterans.”
Consumer‑fraud resources
Arizona residents who suspect they have been victims of consumer fraud can file a complaint at azag.gov/consumer. Complaint forms can also be requested by calling the Attorney General’s Office in Phoenix (602‑542‑5763), Tucson (520‑628‑6648), or the statewide toll‑free line (800‑352‑8431).
This settlement underscores the importance of vigilance when seeking assistance with VA benefits. Veterans are encouraged to verify that any service provider is properly accredited before paying for claim‑preparation services.
