Vitruvian Park in Addison will launch its 14th annual Vitruvian Lights holiday celebration on Saturday, Nov. 28, with a festive tree‑lighting ceremony that begins at 6 p.m. The event marks the start of a season‑long display of more than 1.2 million LED lights draped over roughly 470 trees, turning the park into a winter wonderland for families and neighbors.
Santa and entertainment
Santa Claus will flip the switch to illuminate the lights and will remain on‑site for free photos and holiday wishes. After the lighting, the 11‑piece Emerald City band Limelight will take the stage, delivering a high‑energy mix of party hits and classic holiday songs. The evening’s program runs until 10 p.m. and includes food trucks, sweet treats, live reindeer, letters to Santa with Mrs. Claus, an elf balloon artist, and a 3‑D walk‑through gift box lit with LEDs—plenty of photo opportunities for social media and family albums.
Additional special nights
The park will repeat the special‑event schedule on Saturday, Dec. 5, when Latin orchestra Havana NRG performs from 6 to 10 p.m. In addition, Vitruvian Lights “Bite Nights” are slated for Saturdays Dec. 12, Dec. 19 and Dec. 26. During those evenings, food trucks will line the park’s amphitheater, offering warm meals and drinks for purchase.
Parking and logistics
Special‑event parking is available for a $15 cash fee at lots accessible from Bella Lane and Ponte Avenue, as well as at the Alfred J. Loos Sports Complex. Regular evenings of the light display offer free on‑site parking. All events are subject to cancellation in inclement weather, and the special‑event parking fee is non‑refundable.
Nightly illumination
Beyond the special nights, the LED display will be lit nightly from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., beginning Saturday, Nov. 28 and continuing through Sunday, Jan. 3. The free, public‑access event is sponsored by UDR and the Town of Addison, inviting residents to stroll the park and enjoy the seasonal spectacle.
