A street takeover in Tampa ended with the arrest of an 18-year-old man. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers observed multiple vehicles weaving through traffic and performing burnouts on eastbound State Road-580, also known as Hillsborough Avenue.

The driver of a white Dodge Challenger, identified as Rodrigo Rivera-Montano, allegedly accelerated away from a trooper who attempted to stop him. A pursuit ensued, and the trooper eventually executed a PIT maneuver to immobilize the vehicle. Rivera-Montano was taken into custody and faces charges of unlawful racing on a highway and fleeing from a police officer.
A search of the vehicle revealed an active police radio scanner, which was being used to track law enforcement radio traffic. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, and authorities have not released information on whether other drivers or spectators were identified or arrested.
