Tucked away in the rolling cedar hills of southwest Austin, the Austin Zoo is one of those places that sneaks up on you — in the very best way. You turn off Highway 290, follow a winding two-lane road past limestone outcroppings and live oaks, and then suddenly you’re face to face with a Bengal tiger named Rajah who looks at you like you’re the most interesting thing he’s seen all week.
