The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team, fresh off its first College World Series appearance since 1999, has made significant additions to its roster. Head coach Rob Vaughn and his staff landed three key commits this week: right-handed pitchers Garret Lambert (Mercer) and Michael Senjay (USF) on Tuesday, followed by Missouri catcher Mateo Serna on Saturday.
Transfer Details
Redshirt Sophomore RHP, Garret Lambert, brings impressive strikeout stuff after two seasons with the Bears. Lambert posted a 7-1 record and 4.12 ERA in 89.2 innings, with 110 strikeouts against just 33 walks. Sophomore RHP, Michael Senjay, dominated as a freshman at South Florida, posting a 6-3 record and team-best 3.78 ERA over 81 innings. Senior Catcher, Mateo Serna, announced his commitment Saturday and will play his final collegiate season in Tuscaloosa.
With the offseason just getting started, don’t be surprised if Vaughn and his staff add more pieces. The Tide lost several key contributors, including Justin Lebron, Bryce Fowler, Brennan Holt, and Jason Torres, but still looks well-positioned for another strong SEC run in 2027.
