The 2025-26 athletic calendar year has wrapped up with many Arizona programs finding success in the postseason. Several coaches led their respective programs to postseason appearances and improved seasons.
Top Coaches
Tommy Lloyd, Arizona’s men’s basketball coach, had a standout season, leading his team to a 23-0 record and the best start to a season in program history. Lloyd also earned his first Big 12 coach of the year award and the Naismith coach of the year award.
Wes Johnson, Arizona’s triathlon coach, led the team to its second consecutive national title. Johnson also earned his first coach of the year award and signed a contract extension through the 2029 season.
Brent Brennan, Arizona’s football coach, had a successful turnaround season, leading the team to a 5-1 record after starting 0-2. Brennan also signed a contract extension through the 2030 season.
Clancy Shields, Arizona’s men’s tennis coach, helped the team make the jump to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. Shields now holds a 184-78 record at Arizona and is signed through the 2029 season.
Charita Stubbs, Arizona’s volleyball coach, led the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. Stubbs signed a contract extension and will look to build on the team’s success in the upcoming season.
