Carla Anderson, a 23-year-old woman from Wadena, Minnesota, vanished from her apartment in November 1987. Her family and the local police department have been searching for her for nearly four decades.
The Disappearance
Carla was last seen when her mother and stepfather dropped her off at her apartment after a night out. She had rented a movie and was planning to watch it, but when her mother called her the next day, no one answered. When her mother went to her apartment, she found it locked with Carla’s purse and keys still inside.
The police investigation found no signs of a break-in or struggle, and Carla’s family and friends were ruled out as suspects after passing polygraph tests. Despite numerous searches and a $25,000 reward for information, Carla’s whereabouts remain a mystery.
A Family’s Plea for Answers
Carla’s brother, Dan Anderson, remembers his sister as a caring and happy person who loved music and spending time with her family. He and his family are still holding out hope that Carla will be found alive. The Wadena Police Department is also committed to solving the case, with Chief Naomi Plautz saying, ‘Someone knows what happened.’
The case has been a source of frustration and sadness for the family and the community, but they continue to hold on to hope that Carla will be found and brought home.
