The Casper Housing Authority hosted a Father’s Day celebration at Washington Park on Saturday, with hundreds of people in attendance. The annual event is a HUD initiative that has evolved into a family and community event, creating healthy communities and healthy families.
Focusing on Families
According to incoming Casper Housing Authority executive director Caysie Dulin, the original idea for the initiative came from the fact that dads weren’t getting as much recognition as they deserved. The event aims to focus on single dads and dads who are struggling, providing them with resources and support.
This year’s celebration included burgers, hot dogs, live music, games, bounce houses, and more. Dulin said that the event is always well-attended and that she is constantly humbled by the number of people who come out to support it.
The live music was provided by local band RumbleTrunk, and Dulin said that her favorite part of the day was seeing all of the smiling faces throughout the park. The event is free and open to the public, and Dulin believes that it’s a great way to bring the community together and provide families with a fun and relaxing experience.
