A woman has died after being hit by a car driven by a suspected carjacker in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood on Saturday.
Boston police said the situation started when a driver involved in a crash at Woodhaven and Blue Hill Avenue got out of his car and abandoned it, carjacking another vehicle and continuing down the street.
Investigators say that driver hit the victim near Fairway Street around 2 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. She has not been publicly identified.
The driver also hit several other vehicles, including an MBTA bus, according to police. He is currently in custody.
This is an active investigation, and the road remains closed in the area. More details are expected to be released after the suspect is booked.
