A search warrant was executed by the SFPD and Sheriff’s Department on Wiese Street in San Francisco late Thursday afternoon. The operation involved multiple vehicles, including two black tactical vehicles, and resulted in the detention of six to seven men.
According to witnesses, officers arrived at the scene around 6 p.m. and had a megaphone. One witness reported that the officers had a search warrant for 85 B Wiese St, although this was not confirmed by the SFPD.
The men detained were standing in an alleyway near the back entrance of a public housing project, with their hands tied with plastic zips. A woman passing by the scene claimed that one of the detained men was her cousin and stated that the house in question was known for various activities, including games.
Later, another neighbor reported that there were gambling machines inside the house, but by 7:40 p.m., officers had only extracted a bicycle. The SFPD has not responded to a request for comment on the search and detentions.
