Red Grade Riders, an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team, competed at the Western Region 8 show in Bennett, Colorado, on May 16-17. The team, coached by Mark Guynn, Lindsay Guynn, and Alexis Townsley, had a successful weekend, with both the junior high and high school teams qualifying for competition.
Team and Individual Results
The high school team took home the Reserve Region 8 Champions title, while the middle school team placed third in Region 8. Individual riders also had notable wins, including Caylee Born, who placed third in Varsity Intermediate Reining, and Helen Morris, who was the Champion in JV Novice Ranch Riding.
Other individual winners included Audrey Sisson, who placed third in JV Novice Horsemanship, and Hannah Harlan, who was the Champion in Future Beginner Horsemanship. Allison Hurd placed third in Future Ranch Riding, and Aubrey Welter placed sixth in Future Intermediate Horsemanship.
According to IEA rules, a Champion placing at a regional meet qualifies an individual or team for competition at the National IEA level. Congratulations to Hannah Harlan and Helen Morris, who will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in their respective events at the IEA Western National Finals in conjunction with the APHA World Show in June.
