Allen Road Projects

Several road projects are underway in Allen, including the US 75 Green Ribbon project, which will add enhancements to landscaping, erosion control, irrigation, and new decorative rock to key intersections along the US 75 corridor.

US 75 Green Ribbon Project

The Texas Department of Transportation authorized advertising the construction project in early June, with officials expecting to award the construction project by October. The project is expected to cost $1.3 million and will be funded by TxDOT and the city of Allen.

Highway Safety Improvement Program

Updates to the Highway Safety Improvement Program include modernized traffic signals, upgraded equipment, increased capacity, and enhanced pedestrian features. Upgrades were recently completed at three intersections, and traffic signal updates are in progress at Century Parkway and Bethany Drive, Greenville Avenue and Bethany Drive, and Main Street and Greenville Avenue.

Neighborhood Street Repairs

City-led repairs and upgrades to neighborhood streets are underway across Allen as part of a city-led annual street maintenance program. About 20,500 square yards of the Hillside Village neighborhood’s streets will see asphalt slurry seal applied, which is a surface treatment that will cover minor defects and improve the riding surface.

Pedestrian Facility Upgrades

Upgrades to pedestrian facilities are planned for the Greengate neighborhood area and adjacent roadways, including parts of Allen Heights Drive. Repairs include addressing broken sidewalk ramps, alley approaches, and sidewalk panels.

Sanitary Sewer Line Replacements

Replacement of sanitary sewer lines in and around the Oakhill neighborhood is planned, with around 1,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer work already completed. The project will also include removal of dead or overgrown trees, repairs to sidewalk and roadway panels, installation of new solar-powered street lighting, and median landscaping along Bethany Drive.
