Route 153 in Essex, Connecticut, remains closed in both directions after a pick-up truck crash on Tuesday evening. The crash, which occurred around 9 p.m., brought down power lines and poles. Initially, transportation officials reported that the crash involved a tractor-trailer, but state police Troop F later clarified that it was actually a pick-up truck.
According to CTRoads, the road is closed at Mares Hill Road, and there is no estimate for when it will reopen. Drivers are advised to use an alternate route.
