Everett Wess, a Birmingham attorney, has won the Democratic runoff for U.S. Senate. Wess defeated Dakarai Larriett 55% to 45%.
Wess will face Republican nominee Barry Moore, who won his runoff over Jared Hudson 56% to 44%. This will be an open seat on the U.S. Senate because current Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville gave up the seat in order to run for governor.
