A man is in jail after police say he kidnapped a woman and crashed into a Raleigh police officer’s car during a chase. According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded to a reported kidnapping on Lake Vista Drive. Witnesses at the scene told officers they saw a man shove a woman into a Chevy SUV and drive away.

Police eventually spotted the truck in the area of Creedmoor Road. The driver, who police identified as Ahmad Nasser, then drove in circles before ending up back at Lake Vista Drive and Hidden Pond Drive, where he hit an RPD cruiser in the roadway.

No one was injured in the kidnapping, chase and crash, according to police. Nasser is in jail and is facing several charges. It is unclear when he’ll make his first court appearance.
