Arlington Businesses Benefit from FIFA World Cup

Fans from around the world have flocked to Arlington, bringing a boost to local businesses. Walmart, located just across the street from Dallas Stadium, has seen a significant increase in sales.

Shoppers like Joe Vujica from Croatia and Lawrence Lee from Japan have been taking advantage of the World Cup merchandise available at the store. "It's well organized, and it's pretty good," Vujica said. Lee also liked what he found, saying, "World Cup jersey, so you can find Japanese t-shirts over there. Everything is very localized, even has Cowboys on the t-shirt. So that's very good for souvenirs."

Local Businesses Prepare for FIFA Fans

Walmart store manager Adrian Frazier said they treated the event like a Cowboys game, but on a bigger scale. "We know these games are bigger, so we treated it as such," Frazier said. The store has been well-stocked and has had to order more merchandise to meet the demand. They have also brought in more staff to ensure that everyone can get through the front end quickly and safely.

Other local businesses, like Lacquer Box Nail Studio in downtown Arlington, have also seen an increase in customers. Owner Champa Inthilath said, "We had some Netherlands, and then we have some Japan. Yes, they came through. It was lovely to see them and welcome them in. Yes, it definitely boosts for us. We're very happy and brought the attention to downtown Arlington, to our business."
