The Riviera Beach Police Department held a christening ceremony for a new 28-foot boat designed to improve safety and patrols on local waterways. The event took place at the marina on East 13th Street.
Assistant Police Chief Nathan Gordon highlighted the importance of safeguarding the waterways, stating that the main goal is to ensure everything is safe on the waterway, just as the department has land initiatives, it also has waterway initiatives because of the waterway community.
The new boat is equipped with the latest technology and will help officers patrol the Intracoastal Waterway, the Port of Palm Beach, and nearby ocean waters.
