Residents of South Capitol Hill have a new reason to head outside: Seattle Parks and Recreation has installed exercise equipment at parks in the neighborhood, giving community members fresh options for staying active right in their own backyard.
The new outdoor fitness stations are a welcome addition to the area’s green spaces, making it easier for people of all ages to work out without a gym membership. Outdoor exercise equipment in public parks has long been recognized as a way to promote community health and encourage neighbors to spend more time together outdoors.
The installation is part of Seattle Parks and Recreation’s ongoing efforts to improve and expand recreational amenities across the city’s neighborhoods. South Capitol Hill residents can now take advantage of the new equipment at their local parks year-round.
