New Mexico agriculture employers can receive financial assistance to train interns for the state’s farming and ranching industries through the Agricultural Workforce Development Program.
Program Details
The program is accepting applications from farms, ranches, processors, and other agricultural operations seeking reimbursement for paid internships. Eligible businesses can receive reimbursement for up to half of internship expenses, with funding available for multiple interns each year.
Internships must meet minimum hour requirements and provide meaningful training opportunities for participants. Businesses are responsible for recruiting and selecting their own candidates. Funding is available for internships starting after July 1, with applications being accepted until available funds run out or the program deadline is reached in 2027.
Additional information is available through the New Mexico Department of Agriculture.
