The Dallas Cowboys have started their three-day mandatory minicamp in Frisco, with star wide receiver George Pickens expected to attend after being absent from all of the team’s offseason activities this summer.
Pickens, who signed the franchise tag earlier this offseason, would be subject to team fines if he does not attend minicamp. The Cowboys have stated they will not be offering Pickens a long-term deal or trading him this summer, with a deadline of July 15 to trade him.
Team Changes
The Cowboys have a new defensive coordinator and used their first two draft picks on defensive players, Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence. Two starters from last year, Donovan Ezeiruaku and DaRon Bland, are recovering from surgery.
The team is looking to improve on one of the worst defenses in team history last season.
