Firefighters were on the scene of a blaze in downtown Shreveport Tuesday morning at Providence House, a non-profit organization and transitional residential shelter.
More than a dozen department units were on the scene at 7 a.m., working to control the situation. The fire appears to have started underground.
There is currently no information available regarding the cause of the fire or whether any injuries have been reported.
The Providence House provides comprehensive support and stability to help break the cycle of homelessness for families.
