A sinkhole near White Rock Lake in Dallas is being repaired by the City of Dallas. The hole, which formed earlier this year between East Lawther and San Rafael Drive, was caused by an abandoned pipeline that led to the dirt caving in.
Work to fill the sinkhole is expected to last throughout the summer, and one of the westbound lanes of Garland Road will be closed during construction. The affected area is near the White Rock Lake Trail, and part of the trail is also closed for construction. The city has posted signage with detours to ensure safety.
