The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden has introduced three new Asian small-clawed otter pups. The pups, named Shrimp, Guppy, and Mackerel, have completed their swim lessons and are now viewable to the public in their outdoor habitat in the Elephant Trek.
New Additions to the Family
The pups are the newest born to the otter couple Munti and Flounder. Last year, the duo welcomed four pups: Ripple, Puddles, Splash, and Scuttle. According to Wendy Rice, Cincinnati Zoo’s team lead for Siamang Point at Elephant Trek, the older otters have been helping to teach the new pups how to swim.
