Wyoming has contributed to the America250 Time Capsule, a project celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary. Governor Mark Gordon wrote a letter to be included in the time capsule, which was sealed in Philadelphia and is scheduled to be opened in 2276.
Wyoming’s Contribution
The letter from Governor Gordon is one of many items from all 50 states, five U.S. territories, and Washington, D.C. that make up the time capsule. While the full text of the letter has not been made public, it will remain sealed for 250 years.
Other states have included a variety of items in the time capsule, such as a piece of Civil War eagle feather from Wisconsin and a whale bone from New Hampshire.
