Frozen Pizza Snack Recall Hits 21 States

A frozen pizza snack product distributed across 21 states is being recalled after concerns that it may contain metal fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall was initiated by Rich Products Corp., based in New York, and involves approximately 6,408 cases, or more than 160,000 pounds, of its Farm Rich Pizza Cheese Crunchers.

Affected States

The recalled product was sold in multiple states, including Indiana, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product should check packaging details carefully to determine whether it is part of the recall. The FDA has classified the recall as a Class II risk, meaning the product defect may cause temporary or medically reversible health effects.

The recall follows other recent frozen food safety actions, including a separate pizza-related recall issued in previous weeks over potential salmonella concerns involving products sold at major retailers such as Walmart and Aldi.

Consumers are advised to check their freezers for affected products using the listed UPC, lot number, and best-by date. Those who identify matching items are typically urged by health officials to dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase, depending on retailer policy.
