A reader, known as Good Intentions, invited a friend, Sybil, to a fine dining restaurant to celebrate her birthday. However, things took a turn when Good Intentions also invited another friend, who shared the same birthday, to join them. Sybil was upset and asked Good Intentions to uninvite the third person, which Good Intentions refused to do.
The Dispute
Sybil then sent an email to Good Intentions saying ‘leave me alone’ after Good Intentions tried to set up an alternative date to celebrate at a less expensive restaurant. The situation has left Good Intentions wondering what to do next and whether they owe Sybil an apology.
In a separate letter, a reader from Wisconsin, known as Wondering, writes about their experience of discovering their biological father through a DNA test. They have since met their biological father and are considering how to acknowledge him on Father’s Day.
