A teenager died when he was struck by a car in Boynton Beach. Police identified the victim as 14-year-old Christopher Detoute. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, he was walking eastbound and crossing North Congress Avenue near the intersection with Meadows Boulevard, south of Hypoluxo Road. He was hit by a BMW M4 at a high rate of speed, according to police.

All individuals involved remained on scene, police said. The driver is a 35-year-old man who lives in the Lake Worth area. Police are investigating and no announcement has been made on whether charges will be filed.
