The city of Cedar Park has allocated $681,000 for the design of a shared-use path along Buttercup Creek Boulevard. The path will be built along the north side of the boulevard from Lakeline Boulevard to Bell Boulevard.

The contract also includes the design of a shared-use path that would be built along a utility easement connecting Park Street to Timber Trail, allowing pedestrians to travel between Park Street and Buttercup Creek Boulevard using that path and the sidewalk along Timber Trail and Twin Oak Trail.
Randy Lueders, director of engineering and capital projects for the city, noted that the Buttercup Creek Boulevard shared-use path will connect to the Bell District. Council member Darron Jurajda expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating that issues like the lack of available right of way make a potential shared-use path along Park Street more difficult to build than one along Buttercup Creek Boulevard.
The funding for the design phase of the project will come from the Community Development Corp. Type B Board, which approved up to $750,000 in June 2025 to fund the design of a shared-use path along either Park Street or Buttercup Creek Boulevard.
