The UFC fight night at the White House South Lawn and the Ellipse has come to a close, and the extensive cleanup process has begun. The event, which took place on the White House grounds, required a massive production setup that will take more than a week to break down.
Cleanup Efforts
Crews started the breakdown process early Monday, removing security provisions, including pedestrian barriers and anti-scale fencing. Throughout the morning, merchandise trailers departed, food and beverage operators began breaking down, and broadcast equipment was dismantled.
The US Secret Service also started breaking down the magnetometers and tenting around the security screening areas. The process will continue throughout the week, with restrooms being loaded out, camera towers being disassembled, and staging starting to come down.
By Friday, the stage load-out is expected to be complete, and by the following Monday, dumpsters will be taken away, and exterior fencing removal will be finished. Everything should be clear by the end of June 23, when parking for White House staff will be reopened, and turf remediation will get underway.
