Reiman Gardens in Ames is starting its Grow and Give Produce Donation Program, which invites home gardeners and others to donate fresh produce to people in need. The program begins June 15 and was created in response to growing concern about food insecurity among Story County residents.
How to Donate
Donations can be dropped off at Reiman Gardens on Monday mornings from 7:30 to 9 a.m., when volunteers will collect, weigh, sort and deliver the produce to local food pantries. Organizers said the program is designed to make donating extra produce easy.
