Iowa Medicaid Introduces New Dental Coverage Providers

Iowa Medicaid has introduced new dental coverage providers, Delta Dental of Iowa and DentaQuest, under a new contract. Delta Dental has served Iowa Medicaid members since 2014, while DentaQuest is new to the program.

The plans will cover services including exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns, dentures, and extractions. Officials said there are no immediate changes for current members. Starting July 1, MCNA Dental will no longer be available in Iowa under Medicaid with the new changes.

Letters were mailed in May to inform members about their new dental plan assignments and explain how to select a different plan if they choose to change. Iowa Medicaid will continue to communicate future changes with members, and past contracts expire ahead of the July 1 launch.
