Pirates Drop Series to Marlins

The Pittsburgh Pirates had a tough weekend at PNC Park, dropping two of three to the Miami Marlins. On Friday night, the Pirates fell 8-3. However, they bounced back on Saturday with a 3-2 win behind a solid outing from Bubba Chandler, who pitched six innings with six strikeouts, backed by a Gregory Soto save.

Sunday’s Loss

On Sunday, the Marlins took the series with a 4-2 win. Paul Skenes dealt ten strikeouts in six innings but took the loss as the bullpen couldn’t hold it in the eighth. Bryan Reynolds provided a highlight, going two-for-five with a solo home run in the losing effort.

The Pirates now head to the road, facing the Athletics in Sacramento on Monday night. They will look to get back on track against Oakland before a three-game set in Colorado next weekend.
