Brooks Koepka Withdraws from Canadian Open

Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion, has withdrawn from the RBC Canadian Open due to a hand injury. The injury, which affects his ring and pinkie fingers, caused him discomfort during the third round of the tournament.

Koepka’s Injury and Its Impact

Koepka explained that he is struggling to grip the club with his ring finger and pinkie finger, resulting in a numb feeling. He had never dealt with this type of injury before it flared up in Canada. The hand injury could not have come at a worse time for the 36-year-old, with the U.S. Open taking place next week at Shinnecock Hill, the site of Koepka’s second U.S. Open victory in 2018.

Since leaving LIV Golf and returning to the PGA Tour under the Returning Member Program at the start of 2026, Koepka had been putting together strong results in the lead-up to the year’s third major championship. In his 11 starts before the Canadian Open, Koepka had managed six top-20 finishes, including a T12 at the Masters in April.
